Have a newly built house that sits by itself. Bought this system to supplement a monitored security system. Installed the keypad on the wall inside the attached garage near the 2-car garage door so the alarm can be heard by whoever is lurking near the house. I ended up installing four of the motion detectors (bought extras) outside under the eves of the roof over the garage so that anyone approaching the three sides of the garage that extend out from the house are detected and they know they have been detected. I programmed the motion detectors to stations 3 and 4 on the keypad so that the alarms goes off immediately. I was able to mount the unit outside the double garage door such that the motion of the door going up when arrive and activate the garage door opener does not trigger the alarm. I use the keychain remote to arm and disarm the system as I leave / arrive. I liked the fact that the needed batteries were included in the purchase. Bought an extra keychain remote so we have one in each of our two vehicles. The system works!!!
